I didn't really care. It was nice to see Pitt win though. When the players lift the cup it's always a crazy feeling.

When they were skating with the cup, some guy yelled "fuck yeah!" when he lifted it above his head.

I agree that Fleury blooper was hilarious! It was a great game and series, good job to the refs for letting the players play it out for the most part imo.

I agree that Fleury blooper was hilarious! It was a great game and series, good job to the refs for letting the players play it out for the most part imo. I didn't like the reffing one bit. That was not at all letting them play it out. A lot of non-calls in favour of Pittsburgh, and Detroit got called for the slightest thing. Mind you, Detroit plays a clean high-skill possession game, so there wasn't much opportunity to call a penalty against the Wings anyway. Regardless, I was mostly fine with Pittsburgh getting away with more since they're a younger team. They don't have the experience and such that comes with years of playing the game, and I'd expect them to be a little more brash with their decisions on the ice. My biggest problem was with the refs not calling an interference penalty on Gill. Instead they let play continue, Pittsburgh gained possession, and then they brought the puck up ice and scored the winning goal. I was pretty pissed when the hit happened and they didn't make the call, but then to see it turn into a possession advantage and a Cup-winning goal for the Pens was just ridiculous.

The wings are known for running little pick plays undetected though, so I'm glad they let em play on.

All these accuastions about the refs being biased and such are bullshit. Detroit is one of the dirtiest teams in the league and run a ton of pick plays that go undected. If anything i would say the refs were very even but especially in game 5(i was at the game) the refs didnt do a good job picking up all the little detroit penalites. With the Crosby slash that everybody made a big deal about every body forgets to watch the tape becasue if you did you would see Zetterburg give Crosby a dirty cross-check to the lower back about 2 seconds before that but since Crosby didnt dive and flail around on the ice it was not called. If pittsburg had as many divers as the wings it would be a different story.
Zetterburg, Flippula, Hudler, and company have been divers and i have seen them do it lots. I think the league just got sick of it.
