The reality is both of them are just amazing player. Crosby though has everything to his game and more, is a younger, and I think just overall has a few of the intangeables Malkin doesn't have.
That being said, the player that impressed me the most this playoffs was Malkin.

Some people say Crosby is better because of his PR skills, but look at it this way. If it was the other way around and Crosby was playing in the Russian Elite League and had to talk to the media in Russian, he would be royally ******.

Malkin, better 2way player. Obviously has the ability to produce more than Crosby and provide better defense. When his english gets better he will be a better leader as now its hard to understand half what he says.

Crosby no doubt. Harder worker and alot more consistent. Malkin dissappears and floats a ton. Also takes long shifts and gets pinned in the defensive zone lots. Would take Crosby in a heartbeat.

Crosby for sure, Malkin and him are on par offensively, but Crosby plays a better 2 way game.

Well, I don't watch a lot of Penguins games (I really do not like the Penguins), but when I do, it just seems that Crosby is always giving his all, while Malkin can disappear at times in tighter checking games.

When he is in the defensive end which is rarely. 95% of the time in detroit he was the last one to enter the zone and the first to leave it and he would always look for break away passes and do big loops back into the zone. I dont think he can even compare to Crosby defensively.

I would rather have Malkin for a 2way guy any day of the week. Crosby on the other hand, not that great defensively. Not horrible, but Malkin is better. By numbers, not opinion. Some people like crosby better and i can understand that, but Malkin is clearly better defensively. Honestly better on offense this year than well.... Anybody.

If we wanna talk about numbers how about Kent Huskins in 07-08. Finished 6th in the league at +23 leagues ahead of Pronger and scott Niedermayer. Does that mean that you would take Huskins ahead of those two??? If you would then i think most people would call you crazy. Stats can minipulated in all sorts of different ways. Look at who Crosby goes head to head with every night and look at who Malkin goes head to head with. In both the offensive zone and defensive zone. There is not even a comparison there.
The fact of the matter and i think a vast majority would agree(what i have read on other forums and such) The penguins minus Malkin would be leagues better than the Penguins minus crosby.
